I have always enjoyed studying Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and I would like the opportunity to continue this study. Chemical Engineering appeals to me because of the challenges involved in the application of scientific theory to practical, real world problems such as how to deal with nuclear waste. I particularly look forward to studying fluid dynamics as I was introduced to this during the Engineering Education Scheme (EES). I am aware that in today’s world chemical engineering has an increasingly important role across a wide range of industries from pharmaceuticals to petrochemicals. I have applied to take part in the Year In Industry scheme during which I hope to gain practical experience, as well as greater maturity enabling me to go into my degree course with improved skills and broader experience. I also hope to study e-learning courses on project management and presentation skills run by the IChemE. In Year 12 I took part in the EES, which improved my understanding and skills in team working, time management, and report writing, as well as visual and oral presentation. Throughout the course of the project the team had to frequently correspond with mentors in industry and academia and this experience has broadened my appreciation of practice and application in a real life situation. In July I attended a week-long ‘Into Engineering’ seminar run by REACT Engineering. Working in two teams, we were given a design exercise based upon a typical decommissioning project. I also attended a Headstart course at Newcastle University, which I thoroughly enjoyed. One of the main activities was to design, manufacture and test a small crane. I found both of these experiences very challenging, as we were given only limited time so we had to prioritise our tasks and carefully plan our work.This year a fellow student and I were awarded ￡500 by the European Scholarship Prize to fund a visit to Prague to do research for our A-level History coursework. I gained an understanding of the city’s culture and history and further developed my independence. During the summer I represented my school on a Connexions review of a government white paper on 14-19 education. I gained an insight into the government’s proposals and learned a lot about working with different groups of people. Last year I was part of the editorial team for the school magazine. I wrote a number of articles and I was responsible for ensuring that staff contributions were ready for the deadline. I also enjoy participating in a range of sports and have represented the school at football and cricket, which has further enhanced my team working skills.In my spare time I am working towards my Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. Some of my outside interests are music, politics, the Internet and reading. Computing and its applications have always fascinated me and for this reason I have found my A-level courses extremely interesting. This also has maintained my long-term interest in computer-related careers. I have studied mathematics, physics and computing to A-level and also during the first year at Hills Road Sixth Form College I re-took my GCSE English.

一、资格限制高

This institute has designed virtually all the modern landmark buildings in China, including the famous Great Hall of the People and the Museum of Revolutionary History on the Tiananmen Square, the Beijing Railway Station and the Asian Games Village. The Western station project in Beijing consisted of the mail hall (70,000 square meters), south wing building group (40,000 square meters) and north wing building group (35,000 square meters). 一、需带物品：

身份证或护照，两寸彩色照片2张，钱(不会超过500元;荷兰体检费用449.1RMB，包括体检和接种疫苗)，学校寄来的体检表有则带，没有亦可。去时要空腹。

二、流程：

1.填写表格(如果有学校的体检表，直接在大厅排队等待收录)。

2.在大厅排队准备收录，把表格给收录员。在收录时还需要红外照相。收录结束后把表还给你，另外还有条码标签和号码。

3.等待叫号码。看到你表格里填的国家，工作人员就知道你需要体检项目和接种疫苗的种类。然后在大厅东侧的收费处交钱。

4.然后就可以按照表格中所提示的体检项目流程体检。其中有：血常规(验血型)、肝功、静脉抽血(艾滋病等待，抽两小管血)、尿检、心电图、血压、X光透视、打疫苗(白喉和麻风腮、白喉挺疼的，胳膊3天都没缓过来)，另外身高、体重、视力都是自己报的。

三、体检经验

1.荷兰留学签证体检时间比较短，有一个小时就差不多查完了，但是10点左右接种疫苗的地方就不收表了，因此还是尽量早点去。因为有一项皮试只有星期一和二做。这个皮试是关于结核病菌方面的，有的学校要求做，比如西北。该皮试需要48小时和72小时均回去复查，所以只有星期一、二、五做，但星期五又不体检。所以建议大家星期一或二上午去体检。

2.有学校体检表的要按照体检表要求的项目检查，所以体检项目可能与标准的项目不太一样，比如说PPD是不包含在标准项目里的，如果你的体检表里要求了，就要检查，并且体检表交给他们填写要多收费。如果没有体检表，大可不必担心，只要检查要求的项目即可。

3.去时要空腹。带照片，否则在那里照，花费较高。照片一张贴在体检标上，另一张走时连同体检的各种表格交给大厅的工作人员。别忘了拿取结果的凭条，否则体检结果只保留一周，就被处理的，还要重新来过。
